kaspersky installation woes by uninstalling Norton antivirus.?

August 10th, 2009 · 3 Comments

when I was installing kaspersky anti virus program, it asked me to uninstall other antivirus program (norton). I did so and completed the kaspersky installation and tried to register it online, but could not do so, since I am unable to connect to internet due to uninstalling norton antivirus.
Can anyone please help me to solve this issue.

Uninstalling norton should absolutely not get rid of your ability to browse the internet.

You should notice though that the only way of actually getting rid of norton is by reformatting. After you uninstall, norton leaves behind executables and services that you cannot get rid of. If you delete the executable or tell the processes not to start, they start anyway and recreate the exe.

Go to your manufacturers website and to the download section and type in your model. It will give you a bunch of drivers. Download the relavent onces (you’ll need sound, LAN, video, and you should get chipset). Get a windows cd matching your version and reformat, making sure that you burn those drivers to a disk first.
