I have been using this for quite some time now, and had no problems really. No very dangerous viruses have ever gotten through so not really had to bother learning too much about how to get rid of them.
However I received a second hand laptop which had McAfee, I deleted this & put a copy of kaspersky on it.
It came up with 7 very dangerous viruses all in trusted programs such as flash (Macromedia) java and real player. I could not for the life of me get these viruses deleted so I actually ended up deleting the programs altogether which was probably stupid but I don’t use them a lot, so figured it’d do for now.
So please, can someone tell me how on earth you get the detected viruses of the laptop?
When I click quarantine it tells me to open it myself and if I do find it, some wont delete (mainly ones in system 32.)
Also, I checked settings. It is SUPPOSED to delete them automatically if quarantine is not possible but it doesn’t do this. It’s also meant to quarantine them automatically…
Help please someone? I never realised how unbelievably confusing this program is!!

That’s Kaspersky for you… Try doing these operations in safe mode. It’s usually F8 after POST, but before you see the Windows load screen. You can also try MalwareBytes or AdAware to get rid of them. Another option is to google the virus ‘names’ and see if there are removal instructions or tools that you can run to get rid of them. Good luck!

You’re not the only one find this confusing. They are not malware nor false positives. They are vulnerabilities detected in your programs. See in this link to tell you how to deal with vulnerabilities.

You need to install Java though and go here to get your latest version. Note: remove all the other older versions of Java in Add/Remove and keep this latest version
