“Kaspersky Internet Security 2009″ is blocking Google?

December 2nd, 2008 · 20 Comments

Ok, I got my laptop and this is what it had on it (well, my dad got it for me) and I have had it since October, and now it is blocking www.google.com and anything that is on google.

It is called Kaspersky Internet Security 2009

Can anyone help me figure out how to unblock google? I have tried different things that don’t work :(

You can try to go into setting and turn off anti-banner. I don’t remember where it was in setting. But you should be able to use the help in kaspersky and find the setting for anti banner. You can also go to Kaspersky forums and post there if turning off anti banner does not work.

Kaspersky was a good anti virus suite until it failed the latest virus bulletin test which means it may not detect all threats out on the market

try disabling the firewall and then try to proceed with google
if it still appears blocked temporarily disable the internet security suite and then try

I’m using Kaspersky Internet security 2009 right now and it’s not blocking Google. There must be something in your settings that’s causing it. Have you checked the firewall?

      Here’s the support site:

      I’m having same problem.

i’m having the exact same problem!
      just do this:

Select “Settings” on the top right,

Then go to “Protection”, located to your left,

      Then “Anti Malware”,

Then select “Settings” under “Web Traffic”,

Then click on “Add new item”

      Then type in http://www.google.com* exactly.

      Go to content filtering,

      click banner ad blocker and

      go to settings.

go to enable ad banner blocker settings

      go to white list

      add this *google.com*

      click ok.

Sorted me out. Nice one! You were more useful than Kaspersky online help.

I just got off the phone with a tech from Kaspersky, the update they sent out yesterday had an error in it. He has sent instructions to reroute the server update. After I try it, I will send it out.

      Ok, it worked.
      Launch Kaspersky
Go to setting on the top RIGHT hand corner
      Click on Update
then click on the Settings button under Automatically
      Now click Add
Type in the source field: http://195.222.17.41
      Click OK
Now uncheck the FIRST for Kaspersky’s lab’s update servers
      leave the second one checked
      Now click Ok
      then Apply and OK
then open a browser and try it. It worked for me.

I just got KIS 2009, to replace kaspersky6–and it’s a disaster. I installed it with the default settings, added a few sites to the trusted zones, and still can’t access any of the links on google news, my homepage, the images don’t show up, and sections of my blog when they show up at all, are in hypertext with no way to edit! What fool set the defaults so tight it’s unusable without re-engineering it!

try resetting kaspersky to default settings and then reset u r inter net explorer properly to its default settings chek alos u r internet settings and if these adds are rubbish like banners then they r block for u r safty try turning banner add blocker and if they r spam or malware they will be blocked everytime by ksapersky for safe browsing so kaspersky internet security 2009 (8.0.0.506)(a) rocks upgrade to it no problems
