I just bought a Kaspersky 2009 internet security suite today for my new laptop, which I bought 1 month ago (my trial virus scanner ran out)
I bought last years version of Kaspersky for my old system and it works well (I have it on two additional systems).
I installed it, and when I try to get the update upon installation completion, the update gets stuck at 99% and then another message comes up saying that my databases are now corrupted.
I try to update with that, and it is gets stuck at 99% as well.
My connection speed is good. I have fiber optic hook up with the top speed option from my ISP. at its lowest I get around 5000 kbps.
I have removed the factory installed viruscanner.
should I try a reinstall of the software in case it never gets past 99%? and it that does not work, what should I do?

Yes you should. Make sure you get a good uninstall. Also before you install Kaspersky make sure you turn off windows Defender. Also any other security programs you have should be turned off. If your old security programs is still on your computer that could be messing up the update of Kaspersky. Also once you get it up and running leave Windows Defender off.
