lost internet connectivity after unintsalling Norton's?

July 24th, 2008 · 4 Comments

recently i purchased a hp dv9825nr and used the trial version of Norton's for a month, when i chose to remove for different software.Once the Norton's was removed, the small computer icons at the bottom of the screen on the task bar,(that indicate the current connection) had a yellow yield sign in front now, and said limited or no connectivity. I still had a wireless connection with my AT&T card but it was blocked somehow. To fix i tried reinstalling the Norton's, and regained the connection with internet and my icons lost the yield signs, and went back to normal. how can i safely remove without causing connectivity problems? Thanks before you think!

Try setting your firewall and personal security settings to a lower setting. If that doesn't work uninstall then reinstall Norton's. That happed to me too, and I just had to reset my personal security settings, then reboot the computer.

Did you check the Windows Firewall to see if it was active and maybe blocking it by mistake?
