I think I have a virus, it has happened tome two times while checking hi5, I clicked on a profile, this time my profile and suddenly several windows displaying my profile started appearing, until the point my computer went so slow because of loading them that I had to shut it down. Last time I managed to end the IE process with the time manager, but this time the spawning windows won… what can I do?? help!! I could use firefox but it suddenly stopped working… I've a question on that…

download, update then run this software

then use CCleaner to clean up your files
Then… make sure you have a good anti-Virus like AVG (free) or ESET NOD32 (costs a little bit but worth it) and update it..

This definitely sounds like a virus. If you can't get to the internet or anything without your computer crashing, you might as well reinstall Windows. It sounds pretty bad.

I would get windows live once care, it's free if you have QWest DSL
if not run the Lavasoft Ad-Aware scanner- http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
and clamwin virus scanner- http://www.clamwin.com/
