If I had a new Macbook Pro with Leopard on it, would it be possible to use bootcamp to install a secondary operating system other than windows, specifically solaris?
On the same note, does anyone know how big the latest version of solaris' operating system is (I know it works on servers, but they make laptops too)? If it's supposed to be free, where would I get it?
If solaris doesn't work what about linux? Does it work over Leopard, or is it completely seperate, and would I be able to use bootcamp for it?

I've never tried it myself, but I'd think it would work. There's some info at a blog at http://blog.louspringer.com/2008/01/06/dual-booting-solaris-and-mac-os-x-on-macbook-pro/ that may be helpful to you.
