I have a Powerbook g4 1 ghz and I am trying to bring it to the latest version of OSX Tiger and after I downloaded the update it says This software cannot be installed on this computer. This is really bugging me! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

You need to purchase a retail version of OS 10.4.
You only get free updates for your specific version (10.2, 10.3 10.4, 10.5).
You can get it by calling the Apple store

Upgrading from 10.2.(anything) to 10.3, 10.4, or 10.5 will cost you money. You’ll have to buy a new copy of the OS for those “major” upgrades.
