Mac for sure. Yes it will take any monitor. You will need an adapter though. I believe it comes with one. This is all personal preference though. Different people will say different things. Try the mac out and see what you think. See if the programs you want will be compatible. Will you get parallels or boot camp for it? Then you can run windows also. That way you get the windows operating system with the stability of OS X.

Well the answer is up to you.
If you can change your style of computing from a PC to a Mac.
then you should choose Mac because you really like it.
But if you can’t change your style of computing from a PC.
Choose a PC because your already acustomed to it.

macs are nice, but pc guys like myself like pcs a bit better because we know how things work in a pc. a goof 5-6 years pc i’ve seen so far is sony and Toshiba, samsungs get 4 years of high quality performance, but I forgot where i put it in storage so haven’t seen after the 4 years. stick to Pc… but if you want a mac, then get one.

if pc i would suggest a thinkpad http://lenovo.com/planetwide/select/selector.html
and about the mac mini you can use any third party monitors
mac mini is what apple call it a BYODKM (bring your own display, keyboard, and mouse) that means you can use something like a dell display for it
http://www.apple.com/macmini/accessories.html
and i wouldn’t even recommend you buying a apple display because they are overpriced and outdated

Any modern computer will serve you well if you just intend their use to be lightweight.
Chose the PC if you are in to the latest games or want use a program that uses direct X. However the mac is fine for surfing the web and checking your E-Mail.
By the way,Computers running linux and the macintosh operating system DO have virus and security threats, be careful of anyone who says otherwise.
