McAfee has been deleting the same virus for days now and it's slowing down my computer very badly. I'm pretty sure that McAfee is infected itself because it won't let me delete McAfee and I also can't use System Restore (the calendar is gone completely).
Can I download a new virus scanner to get rid of the virus that is infecting McAfee?

First thing never delete your anti-virus software while you are infected. There's no telling what's on your machine. It could open the door for a lot more malware to enter. But start your computer in safe mode and run mcafee. It's much easier to remove malware in safemode. That may be all you have to do. The next step would be to get Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from download.com Install updated the start your computer in safe mode and run a scan.

well… i just got through fixing a computer… and the girl had McAfee too… your best bet would be going to http://www.avast.com and downloading the home version… and then do a boot time scan… and this should take care of it for you… o.k.

Hello K G,
This sounds like a classic sign of trojan infection.
Trojans can be a very hard thing to completely remove from a computer.
I recently suffered a major Trojan infection. I couldn't use my computer for days. I tried every thing to get rid of it, but no matter what I did, it just kept coming back stronger.
I was so stressed out after spending multiple days trying to remove the trojan with no luck. I gave up and decided to throw in the towel. I called geek squad. They came and looked at my computer, but wanted $300 to fix it.
I really didn't have that much, so I told them I couldn't afford to fix it at this time. The technician must have seen the frustration I was going through. Because he pulled me aside and told me how I could fix it for under $60.
He told me to go to http://solve-your-spyware-problem-today.blogspot.com and download the free trojan removal scan.
So I visited the site and downloaded the program. Ran the scan and it found over 63 counts of trojan, spyware, adware, and malware infections.
I registered the product and was FINALLY able to destroy my trojan problems once and for all. I felt a giant weight lifted off of my shoulder, and also managed to save $240.
I would suggest you give it a shot. It worked for me. Plus the product offers a 60 day return policy if it cannot remove your Trojan infection. So you really can't lose.
Hope this helps with your trojan problem.
