I just installed AVG 8.0 free, and than it said I´m completly protected, but than Mcafee poped up and said Am I protected? NO, so i clicked fix, and it said One or more things require your action, piece of crap wont fix it´s self, i´m confussed, if AVG says i´m completly protected than why does Mcafee say I´m not? Please help
Ok so am I proteced or not? I click fix and it says *One or more problems require your reponse* and all I can do is click cancel, it wont give me anything like *respond* So should I be worried? Because AVG says i´m proteced.

No one antivirus program will catch all viruses all the time. Evidently McAfee caught something that AVG didn’t.

you can only have 1 antivirious on a computer other wise it will not work. stick with mcafee.it’s beteer. more virious protection means more harm for your computer

Choose one. Uninstall the other.
This is what a Microsoft MVP has to say about the subject. You may also want to consider reading her entire web-page on “How to prevent Malware”. It is one of the best that I have seen.

“Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously! The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.”

its called program conflict. this happens alot. you should only have 1. stick with mcafee its better. thats why when you install some other antivirus programs like panda,it will search for program conflicts before installing.
EDIT- try uninstalling avg and try fixing your problem again with mcafee security center.

Its not a good idea to have two anti-virus programs on the same computer. They conflict with each other. Mcafee is good but I always found it very hard to get rid of all traces of it. You’ll need to get rid of one of them.

Mcafee is better than AVG hands down. So it probably caught something AVG didnt. But then again, it might have just been a cookie or something stupid i don’t know.
