Ok, I’m aware I have at least one, if not more viruses on my computer. I got an alert from McAfee saying I had a trojan virus on my computer and to restart it then do a full scan of my computer. I did, and McAfee said my computer was fine, no viruses on it. But I know I have viruses on it because I keep getting these random popups on my computer. Can anyone please give me some advice?

First I would get rid of McAfee. Then install avg from http://free.grisoft.com then get Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org (as I think the popups are due to malware anyways and thats why McAfee is not doing anything.)

Perhaps you should run an antispyware scan in addition to using McAfee.
If you need a free antispyware program, perhaps you should try using AdAware, which can be downloaded from the link below.

Another program that you may want to try using would be MalwareBytes, which is also free and can be downloaded from the link below.

Good luck and I hope I helped you!

Mcafee doesn’t have the best detection rate of viruses. They also can’t stop unknown viruses from running on your pc. They only scan off the viruses in their definitions list or known bad list. I use a Security program that stops both known and unknown viruses from running, BluePoint Security. If mcafee is not finding your virus try download.cnet.com for some free software that might scan that virus off.

No single AV will get rid of or stop all malware. For now, restart PC into safe mode by gently tapping F-8 key, choosing Safe Mode with Networking. Download, update, run Malwarebytes in Full Scan. When finished and out of safe mode, download, update, run SuperAntiSpyware and A-squared. Clean up with Ccleaner and the Reg-Cleaner in ccleaner. Turn off System Restore and turn back on. Never listen to anyone saying to use AVG free, because it does not protect against rootkits. These air-heads don’t even bother to do their homework, so have no clue…
