McAfee virus program booting slowly?

Hi… I have McAfee as virus protection installed in my PC, but of late when I turn on my PC or on restart the "McAfee Security Center" icon in the system tray appears very late unlike earlier which it used to come very quickly and the "windows security alert" icon as well…plz help me out

      have you done much house keeping on your PC? Like delete browsing history, temp internet files, defrag your hard drive, sort out registry. all these will help your pc run at speed, how much ram you got? XP min. of 1Gb, Vista min. 2 Gb., otherwise you PC will be grunting?
