I i recently installed McAfee Security Centre after previously using Norton Internet security.
I have tired to do a full system scan and after leaving the computer on over night i have got up to find the scan is still running 13 or so hours later but seems to get stuck on certain files ( different ones each time)
I have left the computer on for nearly 24 hours and the scan still isn't complete.
The computer is a relatively good one, so there should be no problem in terms of memory etc.
Has anyone a solution?

norton security is notorious for leaving parts of itself in registry after uninstall.do you see any part of norton in add or remove programs such as live update?if so download norton removal tool and uninstall the rest.then reinstall mcafee.
