McAfee won’t detect thr trojan virus on my computer?

September 28th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Okay basically I don’t know what the hell happened, I just got this random virus and when McAfee scans, nothing comes up like there’s no virus detected. I’ve had the same one before and i got it quarintined but now it’s back. What do I do?

Don’t give me anti virus programs I just need advice on what to do with McAfee so I don’t get my computer taken away by my dad.

PS: I’ve only been on safe websites, I’ve never downloaded anything.

Tell us why you think you have a trojan virus.

McAfee finds nothing so why you think you have a trojan virus.

PS: I’ve only been on safe websites, I’ve never downloaded anything - so what have you not heard of a drive by virus.

"PS: I’ve only been on safe websites, I’ve never downloaded anything." FAIL!! Every-time you start your computer, let alone start a web session you download something!

McAfee, in my opinion, is next to useless. I can over-ride it on someones computer in seconds. I could send you a ‘nasty’ that McAfee will not detect!

By quarantining this ‘virus’ you did not remove it from your system.
Most times it involves accessing ’safe mode’ to uninstall! ESPECIALLY if you had a trojan!! It could have since renamed itself (thats what they do) and your anti-virus will NOT pick it up, let alone ‘UNINSTALL’ it! (yes uninstall, not just delete)

As for this statement "Don’t give me anti virus programs I just need advice on what to do with McAfee so I don’t get my computer taken away by my dad"

Well, hard luck, coz without a anti-virus that WORKS and the knowledge how to use it and the knowledge how to PREVENT infections, you are stuck (up somewhere without a paddle, lol)
