md5 encryption for a Mysql database?

September 9th, 2008 · No Comments

If I forget my password for some website on the internet and I request that the password be sent to me by email, does this mean that the company doesn’t use md5 encryption on passwords.

Are there any other encryption techniques that will allow you to read decode the password from the database (obviously not md5 because that is impossible) and then send it via email to the user?
