Missing file d3dx9_37.dll on my game.?

Lots of times when i install games i get this message and i really wanna know what it is. I just installing Call of duty: world at war (beta) and it said this. I does it to other games. I dont know if its the same file on other games but it does always end with .dll
Please help!

      Try this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en
      It should install the correct DLL’s.
      If it doesn’t, go here: http://www.m3fe.com/content/d3dx/
      Scroll down to the DLL you need, then extract it from the .zip archive into your System32 folder (make sure you don’t delete anything important in the process).
