I can’t start windows XP due to ‘windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:<windows root>\system32\hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file.’
I’ve downloaded a new copy of the file on another computer but can’t get the problem computer to start. What’s the easiest way to create a start up disc on CD or USB?

Downlaod the Ubuntu live cd and then you can access the disk drive and copy the file to the directory you want.
