PLEASE help! It’s driving me INSANE. I’ve gotten this ‘MS AntiVirus’ virus, and can’t get rid of it! I don’t even know how I got it…well, my spysweeper did expire.
Anyways, I am a broke fifteen year old with no money. My parents won’t help, and they don’t know anything bout this. Is there any free program to get rid of it? I’ve tried a bunch like Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, the free microsoft virus program, and an old McAfee. They all say there isn’t any. Yet every second this friggin pop up pops up!
Help!?

You can delete this by running task manager and ending the process AV08.exe or MSAV.exe and then deleting the file it self that contains the virus which should be in add or remove programs from here reboot your computer and it should be gone.

Use Spybot Search and Destroy:

It is actually spyware/adware and I have used this to remove from several friends computers. And free.

Anti-viruses usually don’t bother with nuisance problems like that. Try ad-aware or spybot search and destroy.
AVG anti-virus wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Download and scan your computer with the the following free software in order one by one, delete what ever they find should leave your PC free of infections:
Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html?cdlPid=10850129
SmitfraudFix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.exe
Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?tag=pop.software&cdlPid=10867956
Once you have removed the infections keep Avast and download Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop it returning. (links on my profile)

MS Antivirus is a rogue-antispyware program, typically installed though security exploits and bundled with other spyware/malware (trojan horses, fake video codecs). It’s free scan reports deceptive and irrelevant threats to scare and goad the user into buying the program. We strongly recomend to remove MS Antivirus from your computer. MS Antivirus may also hijack your web browser and redirect you to fake security web-sites (see screenshot below). This application shouldn’t be trusted and is recommended to be removed.

MS Antivirus must be blocking your security programs so they don’t find the infection. malwarebytes antimalware is pretty good and it should be able to delete ms antvirus. have you downloaded updates for antimalware before running a scan?
if hat doesn’t help i recommend removing msantivirus manually, here’s removal guide http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-ms-antivirus-2008.html
