I got a trojan on my comp. I ran a scan using spyware doctor so that I could erase it. But my spyware program turned on me. It said my membership had expired and I need to go to the website to purchase more. ( it expires Feb '09) so as soon as i tried to go to the website, everything shutdown. The weird thing is that at the same time I had also scanned the comp with my virus protection and it found nothing! Well anyways, my comp. shut down and I turned it back on. That seemed to make it worse. It was just my desktop, but all the icons were gone and the explorer was gone. I did ctrl alt delete so I could use that to try to open some program, but as soon as I opened any program, a message would come up saying ( your computer will shut down in 50 sec…or something like that) So i can't do anything! I just see my blank desktop and as soon as i start a program, it shuts down! PLEASE help.
small detail…in those few sec I have to open a program….once i open it, i can't see it. it like opened and then minimized or something. So it may be open but i can't use it. Also my internet explorer is GONE

hi
you are going to have to boot up in safe mode by pressing f8 quickly to get the boot up screen then pick the one that says load windows with the minium of drivers etc
then from a friend down load some free scanner progs
like kaspersky or f-secure onto a disc install them on yours and do a full scan in safe mode

The weird thing is that at the same time I had also scanned the comp with my virus protection and it found nothing! - sound like your using AVG.
Are you getting a 60 second count down before it shuts down ? If so it could be sasser worm virus.
Boot up in safe mode with networking & do two free online scans, if you can:
