My computer is infected, possibly by a hijacker (when I go to Google, my searches take my to advertising sites, internet's slower, etc, etc) although that's not confirmed. The same 'hijacker' might have done something to my McAfee virus scan, as that has not been able to open. Some other Spyware programs I have like MalwareBytes aren't working either. (So it's not a matter of me just running a virus check)
Worst case scenario, I'll take my computer to be fixed, but if there's a free, safe and quick alternative I'd prefer that.

Don't use McAfee!I heard that many people who use McAfee had this virus.Use another anti-virus.I prefer Avast.

well first mistake u chose mcafee..
second u seem to be in a habit of installing anything.. without thinking thats curiosity.. but wats life without risk…
here firstly uninstall any useless stuff, uncheck any unwanted programs and services in startup under msconfig( run->msconfig)and then if u havnt run a scan.. scan ur c drive ( online if possible at kaspersky.com)…
well if that dont help move ur data from c drive n format c drive…
but be sure to run a scan of other drives too..
