My computer is infected with spyware?

August 27th, 2008 · 9 Comments

So my laptops personal settings are no longer there and instead of a cute picture of my daughter i have a big WARNING sign that says spyware detected on your computer. the in says to instal spyware remove ror anti virus. Then further down it says Warning! win32/adware. virtumonde detected on your computer. Warning win32/privacyremover. m64 detected on your computer.

So we have tried adding an antivirus and it wont connect to the page to allow us to add it its like what ever is wrong with the computer, spyware, is blocking us from fixing it.
Please help before i loose my mind!
Everytime i try to downlad ANYTHINg i get a message saying its not a WIN32 application

      Hey.

To get rid of viruses you could always buy nod32 but if you don’t have money like i do you could go to http://filehippo.com and download adware and avg anti virus and spyboy with super super spyware you could probably get rid of it, but if that don’t work go to run: and type: msconfig and go to start up and remove the unwanted crap and reboot but if none of them worked i would say backup your data and format, or reinstall windows xp but i say format.

The same thing happened to my mom, She unplugged her computer and left it like that and then went back on the next day it wasn’t Better, so here’s some thing’s I suggest
-Get rid of your Anti Virus
      -Get a new computer
-Find out what happened and track sites you’ve gone on lately.
-Ask the company where you got your computer what to do.

The easiest way to fix it is using Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware (Download it, update it, do a full scan, and remove everything it finds).

I would also recommend the following programs to make sure that you don’t get infected again in the future:
      Spybot - Search & Destroy
      Avira AntiVir Personal
      Spyware Doctor Starter Edition

      “Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64″ Error Alert
      August 1st, 2008 | by Alex |
“Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64” is a common error message that is generated by spyware. Most recently this error message is relating to a rogue antispyware called XP-Guard. The whole error message is as follows,

“WARNING! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer. Warning! Win32/Adware.Virtumonde Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64.”

If you can get on internet explorer and then your blocked…..
try pressing control+N and see if you can work
from there and if you can, go to this on the link below….
this sometimes works by opening new IE….

      http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/remove-xp-guard

Scroll to here….Automated Removal Instructions for XP-Guard using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and follow the
simple instructions for Free removal which includes update.

If you cannot do the above ……use another comp to d/load
to a usb stick…cd…floppy…and transfer to the computer
that is infected and run the scan.

that has happened to a friend of mine it matters on how long the spyware has been on your pc.if too long the pc is controlled by the spyware which can attach itself onto files and its mainly located c drive, anyway reboot pc if spyware been on for too long or get spybot search and destroy i 95% sure thatll fix up your problem.now the win32…… means you have either accidentally or delibrately clicked onto one of the pop ups which come up on google or other sites, popups which you win eg..ps3,money etc

      Hi,
      I have the same problem:
Warning! win32/adware. virtumonde detected on your computer. Warning win32/privacyremover. m64 detected on your computer.
I downloaded Malware and it worked at first, but now it’s come back. I can’t run the program, as my c omputer just keeps rebooting or going into IBM recovery mode. Any ideas? I’m ready to throw it in the garbage I’m so frustrated! Thanks in advance!
