I'm afraid that whatever spyware that has infected my computer has disabled my virus protecion software (I have AVG) So my solution was to download another spyware remover and everything would go back to normal. Unfortunately, everything I have downloaded won't open. I have tried AVG anti-spyware, SUPERAntiSpyware, CCleaner, Spybot, among others. All of these have installed correctly (as far as I can tell) but when I try to open them to scan my computer, no go. Double-clicking the shortcut icon or going through the menus result in the same thing: nothing. I have also tried restoring my computer to an earlier time but that didn;t work either. Any help is greatly apprectiated! Thanks!
No solution yet.
I've tried System Restore and there is no date available before my computer is infected. I can't even click on the arrow to go back a month, it doesn't work.
I've tried operating in Safe Mode but nothing will open there either. I guess reinstalling Windows is my only option.
The problem isn't in what anti-spyware program I have, because I've tried several. No matter which one I've tried to use, I can't open it. Downloading different ones is not going to help.

Only thing left is a reformatting operation on the partition.

Boot your computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly after powering on the computer and choose to boot to Safe Mode) and run Spybot.
If after performing these steps you are still experiencing problems download HijackThis. But do not remove anything without first checking with the online community, it will find both legitimate and malicious software.

If after exahusting these options and you are still experiencing issues, there is really nothing more you can do except to reformat your computer and start fresh.

You may want to try these freeware programs that have and currently are working well for me.
Antivirus : Avira antivir
Spyware : Spywareterminator
Browser : Avant
Google them for your own research.
Install them and you shouldn't have anymore problems. Good Luck!!

You need to try a System Restore. It will allow you to go back to a certain date and it should remove anything you may have downloaded back to that date. You wont lose any documents though so it is save to do. I have had to do it many times and it works. If you need help doing it just email me. Good luck.

Enter through safe mode, when your computer starts hit F8 and choose safe mode, then try to open your antivirus-antispyware and run a scan with them might work.
