the virtual memmorything may be spyware—- well windows likes virtual memmory so the more hd space u have the faster ur conmputer will be—— i would tekll you to sefrag, but u will need more space, so just run a spyware and virus scan and c if u can get a new hd and copy ur files over

      hd=hard drive

If your getting the virtual memory message, you need to increase it. You most likely need more RAM as well.

VM is used when the PC runs out of RAM for applications. It's used like RAM, but it resides on the hard drive instead of memory sticks.

To increase VM, right click on My Computer
      Click on Properties
      Then Click on Advanced
It should say Performance and something about virtual memory, click on the button in that box.
      Click Advanced again
      Under Virtual Memory click Change
At he bottom of the window it will say Total page pile size for all drives.
See what it says for the recommended size.
Up above Click the Custom Size button, then enter the recommended size number into the initial and maximum size boxes.
      Click Set
Click OK until you get back to the desktop
      Reboot.

It should run much better now. If you can, defrag the drive. If windows says you don't have enough space torun defrag, get a program Defraggler. It works great and is faster than Windows.

The reason you are getting the message is because you may not have a lot of RAM in your computer to run your OS and some software you have. So your computer has been using Virtual Memory to compensate.

Virtual Memory is Hard Drive Space that is used like "RAM" when processing applications (running them) on your computer.

Now that you have used up most of your Hard Drive Space (and like the other person said) part of that may be "fragmented" it is running out of Hard Drive Space that it can "swap information in and out" of using virtual memory.

Solutions (remember you randomly have to reboot the computer, especially after running a lot of memory hogging programs. An example is WoW or any other on-line game):

      1. Clean out your recycling bin and run the disk cleanup.
      2. Clean up your Temporary Folders and Cookies.
      3. Delete any documents you no longer need. (That you created, do not randomly delete files)
      4. Un-install software that is not being used (through Add/Remove Programs).
      5. Run Defrag.
      5. Increase your virtual memory size (but this still requires you to open up) Hard Drive Space.

if you dont have heavy files and still you are getting problems so
      1: Cleanup your hard drive.
2: Run an anti virus scan to get rid of viruses.
      3:Defrag.
      4:Do a system restore.
And if necessary make a back up on a external hard drive and format your original hard drive that should fix it
