Maybe it’s just getting old…I know computers have VERY short lives…It’s about 2 years old now.. Well I have defrag, disk cleanup, deleted some programs I don’t use anymore…Virus scan, Spyware scan, clean junk files, clean privacy, registry fix…I dont know what else to do..It’s taking a long time to load things even just to open Firefox ..and all sites are slow

What? You use Microsoft? tsk tsk ….
Try Linux. You don’t need defrag, antivirus, anti-ad, anti-malware, no registry to fool with.
Or use MacOS

Don’t listen to the idiot telling you to use a Mac. He is just a fanboy.

If you don’t care about your data, re-format the hard drive and install Windows again. Otherwise, get rid of all the cleaners on your computer and get one program that will do them all. Many of the programs that you are using such as registry fix, clean junk files, clean privacy, etc. are all programs that may be considered adware, spyware, or a virus themselves. (Not all viruses are meant to be harmful)
Many people do not like McAfee. I have had 100% satisfaction with it and I use it on all my systems I build for customers. If you want free, check out http://free.avg.com and use that anti-virus program.

If it’s your entire computer, and not just the internet, you might want to just reinstall your operating system, it’ll be just as quick as when you bought it. If you can do it (it’ll take about 1.5-4 hours depending on what programs you load afterwords) make sure to back up all your data. There are several programs that will help speed up your computer, but every now and then its best just to reinstall your OS if you can. All of my computers are at least 3-4 years old, and the one i’m typing on right now is 9 years old.

I would check your net speed. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ or many other sites. If that’s fine try the free services at Trend Micro. Hope it helps!

Before going out and buying a new computer, try reinstalling the operating system. Which will clean out your hard drive (including any errors, junk files and hidden viruses, spyware or adware you may have accumulated over the years). It will also clean out all of your personal files, so make sure and back up all your important files.

Spyware scanners can slow your system down so can Bloatware virus programs like Norton.
Get something that does both on a daily basis like AVG or AVAST.
Uninstall your spyware and see - your system will improve
Time to change the game plan.
I tried the trial Norton wow what a monster, dumped it the next day.
Spywareblaster - same thing
Got AVG 8 - scans everything once a day havent had a single infection since I got it 4 months ago
And my pc runs great

Hi,
Your computer is not old, there is just something wrong with it.
Try to find out if it is only slow on the internet connection or that your whole computer is slow.
If you can start-up programs like MS-Word or MS-Excel in a normal way and at normal speed, than you have to start looking at you internet connection, router or whatever you have (wireless ??)
Do a speed test as suggested by others.
One way to see problems about performance is by starting the Task-Manager. You can do that by hitting Cntrl-Alt-Del and then select to proper tab Task-Mgr Within the Task-Mgr have a look at the use of processor-time and the use of Memory
It could be that you have a running malware program that is eating all the cpu time or all the memory. You have to do some research here…
Or make screen shots and come back to here.
Hope this will get you started.
