Hi
Before we do anything, we need an inventory of the hardware and software that you have. Use CPU-Z (url: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_145.zip) to find out the hardware specs that you have. Then use AutoRuns (url: http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Autoruns.zip) to find what software are loading on startup. (I am assuming that you know how to use these software, else please ask). Send the answers that you get and we can take it up from there !

Well, there are a few easy ways to fix this problem.
Now, I suggest these remedies.
1. Uninstall some programs: some programs that you don't even know you're using are running in the backround, taking up valuable RAM. Uninstall these so they won't bug you anymore.
2. Not so much junk at startup!: When you start up your computer, some applications launch right away. This can easily be fixed if you go to Start, All Programs, and Startup. There you can right-click on some programs you don't want to start up when you start your computer, and hit delete.
Note: this will not delete the program, it will only stop it from starting at startup.
3. Process Explorer: I have discovered this killer application. It is a more advanced and simpler form of Task Manager. You'll be able to see what tasks the computer uses, and what you use. It is all color coded for easy reading. I love it. Here is the Website for the download. With this application you can easily delete tasks you don't need to use, usually without hassle. But be warned. Delete the wrong tasks and your computer will crash! http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin…
5. More RAM: If all else fails, then try to get more RAM. Vista suggests that you run on at least 2GB RAM for optimal performance, so I suggest an upgrade. It will cost around $100, but your computer will go much faster.
6. Faster Processor: You can either get more RAM such as in suggestion 5, or a new processor. I suggest Pentium 4 HT at 2.8 GHz or higher, or Dual-Core processor at 2GHz or better.
Well I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
