start - run - msconfig - startup tab, uncheck lots of stuff, reboot.

Which version of Windows are you using? Also, what is the processor speed and amount of RAM? Go to start right click on My Computer and hit properties. Please post the information or mail it to billscott92787@gmail.com

If you did any updates then that would explain why it took your computer so long to load.
If you reboot and hit F8 and boot into safe mode and it doesn’t take as long then you probably need to go back to msconfig and check those items again. You can also download spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/ and turn on advanced options.
Once there you can clean up any old windows/missing/orphaned/etc files and double check your startup options there again as well.
