My computer says I have a trojan horse?

August 23rd, 2008 · 6 Comments

My AVG says I have a “trojan horse dropper” and that it is not healable…. what do I do?? Please help. Thank you
Do I just delete it? Or empty the vault? If I buy a new antivirus, will it automatically pick up any past viruses if any that i might have?

      Hello from the Tech:

The only thing to do here is to back up all photos, documents, favorites, email account and address book.

Just remember to virus scan all them before you put them back onto your newly loaded system so you dont reinfect your system.

You can load all of this stuff onto one or two decent USB sticks and keep them as a back up.

I recommend the back up quickly as some virus depending on their nature can jam a system till it will not operate properly and you will loose all of your personals.

Sorry, virus makers should rottttttttt in H.

      NightHawk

As some have stated you could use another virus program and hope for the best, but in my opinion with experience of building about 1000 systems that once infected computers rarely ever operate properly, things migrate to a slower speed, but I wish you the best.

Avast offers a free downloadable good antivirus that I have used.

Ok… Please listen to this -

As i’m typing this answer.. I have virus called Trojan Horse as well…. Avast caught it and is in the virus chest…

First- Turn off system restore.. Click Start, Right Click My Computer, Click System Restore and turn off… So the virus won’t come back after is deleted.. Get Avast… http://avast.com/

Second- Restart in Safe Mode.. Before Windows comes up.. Tap your F-8 key and then choose Safe Mode…

Third- Scan with Avast and when it finds the virus, Move to chest…

Restart in normal mode… Turn on System Restore and you’re done…!
