Try running CCleaner, it deletes alot of temp files that never been deleted, so if you accidentally downloaded a virus that is still in the temp folder, CCleaner can remove, plus CCleaner is opensource!

You can try running a virus scanner like PC tools anti-virus or bit defender anti-virus to see if that works (Click the Link)

You probably might need more ram because you might be running too many processes

Next, you could reinstall windows to see if that solves the problem (last resort)

      Hello From the Tech

      Couple of things here

#1 it sounds as if you have a computer virus… a lot of trojan or worm viruses are ment to do silly stuff such as a that. If this is the case a windows reload in eminent. Make sure you save all your pictures - mail addy book and document files.

#2 your computer cookies and temp internet files are really overloaded and the computer needs a file clean up…cleaning out by going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Clean Up = Run that program and check off all items with numbers in them and hit ok…it there are a lot of big numbers there it will take some time for that to run through even up to 30 - 50 minutes. Then do 3 disk defrags under the same guide line under heading of System Tools.

#3 Hit Start > Run and type msconfig and follow to the startup tab and see if it is listed in there. I will provide a web site that is very good at letting you know if you need certain programs running just type them in the search and follow instructions it will speed your system up ….smiles ….the first site explains msconfig and the second searches your inputs you copy from your start up tab to see if you need them or not.

Hope this helps, have a gr8 day,

      NightHawk

I don't know much about Vista but it could be you don't have enough RAM but I don't think that is likely. Do you have a firewall installed? If you do you should check to see if the port permissions are set properly. Should be some sort of options clickable the firewall settings are important because there is worm protection it would make it so programs are not run unless you give it permission.

      Run AdAware and AVG.

I generally discourage ’scans’, but it seems so much of this generation lacks common sense..

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause “computer slow”.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.
