My computer wont start up because of DDraw.dll, anyone have a solution?

So I was using my laptop computer last night and then it spontaneously blue screened. When I reboot in normal mode I get the error message: "c:\windows\system32\DDraw.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error"

When I tried to do a system restore in safe mode it said that there were no restore points which is strange because I made one about 4 days ago.

I am running 32bit Vista

UPDATE:
Now it wont even enter safe mode, I boot it up and choose regular or a safe mode variations but no matter what it displays a black screen with the mouse in the center.
