I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's time for a new hard drive. The read/write arm has lost its reference point and is banging against its travel stops at one end or the other, making the clicking noise.

The motor on your hard drive (the motor that either spins the disk inside or the one that controls the arm that holds the reading pin) is giving out. That being said, my advice is to back up all your stuff as soon as possible and look into replacing it. The clicking is a tell tale sign of a dying hard drive.

Buy a new hard drive save all important data onto the thumb drive and reinstall the window again.

Your hd probably died. They dont last forever, especially is you use it alot. Even if you dont use it a lot, drives fail quite often. I’ve had quite a few die on me, the most rescent one was the same situation you are describing. In my case, i lost ALL my data.
If you have another drive, try installing windows on it and booting to see if you can save any of your important files. Then you should probably get a new hd.

Your hard drive is a goner. Hard drive costs around $70.
