My husband and I have AVG on each of our computers. My AVG e-mail scanner is active without any installed plug-in while my husband’s is inactive and also has no installed plug-ins. How does my husband fix this problem with the Free AVG 8 e-mail scanner to become active? (we do not use e-mail clients such as outlook, mozilla, etc.)

Uninstall it and reinstall it. It might need an update and for some reason it won’t work. It happened to me once and I just reinstalled it. It is free so what is the problem?
Sometimes when microsoft does it’s update thing…other programs get messed up.

it should have automatically installed. if there is the scanner showing on his avg - you can right click on it to bring up options and fix the settings. otherwise, he should reinstal.

The trial has ran out. You need to goto to programs and features and delete it. Then install a new trial of another antivirus softwear.

hey its nt working properly bcos it might not b updated…try updating it or remove it and install someother antivirus……try it at filehippo.com or 9down.com

I am answering a lot of questions here at Yahoo Answers and since
AVG8 free came out, there are that many people having problems with it, that I could nearly buy a new computer when I would have been given 1 dollar for each problem. I always recommended AVG and Avast free but I now only advise to install Avast free. I would uninstall AVG and install Avast. You will have much less problems
