My laptop's monitor broke?

July 17th, 2008 · 3 Comments

My friend jumped on my laptop when it was closed, and when I opened it up to check for damage, there were massive cracks running along the entire screen.
What can I do to repair this?
And can you give an estimate of how much the repairs would cost?

Who is the manufacturer? Really, your only option is to replace the LCD panel. I've seen that go from $300-$800 depending on the manufacturer, size, and quality of the display.

I replaced a cracked screen on a Fujitsu laptop. Had trouble finding one, but finally ordered a new one from a company on Ebay. Cost about $275. Found replacement instructions on the internet and was able to remove the old one without too much trouble. Looks like new again.
