I have a macbook pro that is about a year old. I still have 40gb of memory and 1gb of RAM that was perfect for me when I got the computer. I haven’t installed anything out of the ordinary on my laptop and don’t run too many programs at a time. It ran like a gem when I got it.
But it just runs SOOOO slow now. Every single program lags, including the internet. I can barely type a sentence because the cursor is lagging behind. I just try to pull up itunes and it takes forever then takes a few seconds to start a song after I press play.
I have used all the commands on OnyX and several other “help” programs, and reformatted something or other on the original tiger dvd that the program told me to.
What could be wrong and how can I fix it?

could be that you have a failing internal hardware due to overheating over the months.
or it is a certain program that you are installing before and after the format.
try formatting your laptop and installing a fresh copy of Mac OS and becarefull about the programs you install.

Ok then
I have some questions to ask you before I can help you fix it just email me and I’ll get back to you on what to do.
1. how many applications do you have open at one time.
2. What do you mean by you changed something on the original tiger disc.
3. Do you have something running that is causing your computer to constantly connect to the internet, such as a backup or sync application.
What you’ve given me is very vauge and I don’t have any idea what it could be, so if you could get back to me I’ll help you out
