My mcafee is not updating correct, please help!?

So i got some trojans recently and my mcafee has not updated since. i ran a virtual technician scan and it updated everything for me, but my mcafee still isnt AUTOMATICALLY updating. I use the advanced menu, and went to configure>security center> and enabled automatic updates and its not updating. even when i maually click update, the little rotating arrow does not show up in my taskbar.

i did another virtual technician scan and it said my DAT files are not up-to-date and mcafee will automatically update it and the little arrow will show up in taskbar, and it didnt, and didnt update.

mcafee has not made an update alert since i got the trojans. i believe most of them are out and some might still be in my computer, but i need to update my DAT files before anything, so can anyone help me with this problem please?
