hook that monitor to another computer and if it works your vidio card is bad. or needs to be reseated and make sure the cables are tight

Have you add any new memory card, network card or any type of internal cards. Sometime people hit card and cause them to come lose. A lose card could also be caused by the cpu being hit, dropped or even kicked. The one thing I would do if you feel that you can and that your computer is not under warranty. Open you cpu and look for lose cards and cables. You might find a cable or a card is lose. Pull the Pci card (if that the kind of card you have) out of the cpu and place back into same slot. In most case this will work. Please do be care when you open the cpu and most card can short out if held wrong. best of luck.
