My monitor flickers once when I play video (avi, etc) files with any video software. I'm running an AMD 2.4GHz dualcore system with 2GB of RAM and a 512 MB Radeon X1650 with the latest directX drivers installed. Running all this on Windows XP SP2 with latest updates.
This even continued occuring after I formated/reinstalled Windows XP. The software I primarily use for video playback is Media Player Classic (MPC). I installed the bare minimum (default, essentials) for Playback Only. Whenever I open a video file, the monitor will flicker once or twice before it begins to play the video file. It also flickers once when I close the program. The issue mainly seems to occur in divx/xvid files in avi format, but it also occurs with mpg format. The problem does not occur with mov files played in either Quicktime Pro or MPC. The monitor will also flicker when I open a folder with video file thumbnails.
I hope this information was sufficient to help me out. Thank you.
