When you delete things, they are just removed from folders at the top of the hard drive. They are still on your computer.

Defragmentation takes a long time, but it works.

I'm not sure if this program works on PC, but I saved 1.5 gigs on my iMac using an app called Monolingual. It takes like a 1/2 hour to finish, but there was a noticeable difference.

you may possibly have a virus. mine was running really slow a couple weeks ago and i got an antivirus and it said that i had a couple of viruses. after that my computer has been running fine. also the year of your computer may have something to do with why it's running slow.

I suspect yo have a trojan. I would advise you do a virus scan ASAP or you'll be in deep trouble.

Look at your processes. How many are running? Are all of these necessary? If you can't identify them yourself - google them. Stop all of the erroneous and unnecessary ones. This is a temporary fix as they will all go back to running when you restart your computer. Use startup guard to stop them permanently. I know that requires you download software but I wouldn't go into the registry and start deleting things without some help.

Some legitimate software vendors have taken the idea of monitoring your computer internals to the absurd. For example, a certain major antivirus package needs so much computer power, that it hardly leaves anything for the user. This is one of the cases when "cure" is worse than the problem. Even one program like this can bring a relatively new computer to its knees.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
