My whole activex compatibility is considered adware and trojans by AVG 8.0?

June 1st, 2008 · 1 Comment

I ran an avg scan after getting like 4 backdoor trojans, from a torrent that was stated healthy by mininova. It removed the trojans, but it also sayed that every key in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility

was adware and a few were trojans. It sayed all 21945 keys (around there) were this.

And that they were warnings

Now I have gotten, ad-aware 2008, spybot search and destroy, superanti-spyware, this anti millicious malware thingy ( i think thats what it was called)

And none of these fixed any of the adwares or detected anything from that registry file.

But the did get 4/4 of the trojans.

Now you will probably say well why dont you use avg 8.0 to fix them, well it says that for everyone so far that it will move it to the virus vault.

Well my virus vault can only hold like 100 files, because when I try to put them all in it says, Maxium file limit. I tried increasing the size of the vault, but no luck.

Can anyone help
My computer is a windows 2000 sp4

I hope I can find a fix because I dont want to reformat.
oh ya I also used spybot search and destroy
