Hey guys I'm new to yahoo answeres and on my Dell Mini 9' lap top I'm having some trouble uninstalling. It does not uninstall the fll size of the file. I still am using the regular windows uninstaller. For example, I install a program of 1.47mb. and if I tried to uninstall it, it would only have uninstalled .93mbs worth. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Evan

Typically there are shared files that get left behind. Sometimes these are files that really are used by multiple programs, sometimes they're just files that are flagged as shared by the installer. Also, many programs leave behind person data such as settings. This can be both a settings file in the program directory, and also registry keys.
There are numerous third party programs that can help clean up the extra stuff. The most accurate ones, you tell the program you're about to install something, and it opens a dialog that you close when it's done installing, and it checks the filesystem before and after, and the registry, to see what was added.
