Need help getting Webroot Antivirus shields to work?

November 3rd, 2008 · 1 Comment

I need help ASAP. I’m having a problem with Webroot Antivirus with Anti Spyware. I discovered that my current version was outdated and there was a patch available so I downloaded it and ran the installation program but said program caused my computer to freeze so I did a hard reboot (shut off power the shut back on without shutting it down first). When it finishing starting back up, I got a message saying the installation was damaged (prior, I got a message during the uninstallation of the previous version that there was a file missing that it was trying to get rid of. Needlessly to say, it simply skipped that one). When I finally got the patch installed and tried to set up the shields (which I found were ALL off) it wouldn’t let me. Everytime I checked the boxes pertaining to the shields it would still say they were off and whenever I closed the window and opened it back up, it wouldn’t reflect the changes I made to it so now I’m stuck with an antivirus program that won’t protect me against anything. How do I fix this and get the program working because I had no problem with Spysweeper w/ Antivirus (the program I was using before I downloaded the patch for it of the official website). Sorry if this question doesn’t make sense
