the computer infected with this Trojan has an anti-virus program called Trend Micro. the anti-virus program has detected the Trojan and also its location on the computer.
However it wont allow deleting the infected file. it keeps saying that the file is being used by another application when there are no open running applications.
what other application could be running this file? how to get rid of this problem?

When you run the anti-virus write down what the trojan is called. Then press ctrl+alt+delete. Go to the task manager. Then go to processes and find the name of that file and close it out (end process).

it is running itself, thats what trojans do, Have got a quarintine?? More than likely it says its doing one thing and doing the exact opposite. Try Spybot S&D, or do a repair on your OS, and find another AV program that quarintines trojan’s like Nod 32. If you believe the graph below
