Removed Symantec Antivirus 9 using "add/remove programs" but it still appeared in the tray…even though it was gone from "add/remove". Tried using the Norton Symantec Antivirus Removal Tool, but it said I had to remove the program using "add/remove" before it would remove it. Went in safe mode and deleted symantec folder, but now when I right click on anything…it says it is "installing symantec antivirus". Any ideas on how to get rid of this completely? Switching to Avast.

don't use add / remove !!!!!!
go on goolge and use norton's free removal tool.com
each product is listed find urs and use the tool
