I have 2 computers and one is SO slow ( bought it 2002 or 2003, but bought the best at the time). It has a lot of junk on it that I need to clean, but I want some software to make it faster. My first PC has a 140 (Upgraded from 80)GB hard drive, 1.8 GhZ Pentium 3 processor I believe and 1 GB of ram (Upgraded from 512 MB)
It currently has Norton 360, Photoshop, Spysweeper, Window washer and many other programs on it. When it starts up. I have alot of programs running. How can I make it so there are fewer programs that run at start up? That would help make it faster, right? Also, I did stop some programs from running at the startup on my second computer, but every time I restart it. It says changes were made and says I need to restart it every time. So I just close that screen out. How can I fix that?
I know there is software out there that helps speed up your PC, but what is the best? Is there software that can check the drivers for updates and fix them, if needed. If so what is the best?
My second PC Info:
250 GB hard drive (Half Full), 2.8 GhZ dual core processor with 2 GB of RAM.
I know using the Disk Defrag can help. Is there anything else on my PC already that can help me?
Sorry for all the questions, but I need help and can’t afford to take my PC to geek squad and have them look at it. I know my way around a computer, even though it doesn’t seem it.lol.. I just need the names of some good software. Odds are I can get myself a free copy, even if it is pay software. So give me suggestions for any software no matter the price.

..second pc looks good just format your HDD and re install OS system on it it would power up very well then …dont use norton 360 make your pc very slow…trust me i go on very bad websites all the craking and that but i only have AVG free anti virus ……but you first pc way tooo old now even if u have upgard it come on…no FBS on pcs that came in 2001..2002 is very bad from today …pluse these days pc s are dirst cheap its better get a new on e,,,,
