Hey,
i've had vista ultimate for quite sometime now.just 2 days ago i opened the update center and picked all of the important updates and downloaded them also some other ones.right after i restarted i noticed…there are no sounds ._.
nothing,no music,windows sounds.nothing :'(
the sounds not muted and im on a laptop so yeah… and the sound used to play just fine before i updated..i also looked in sound settings and the test thing works! i hear the tone thing now how dumb is that?
also it says that the sound -when im playing music- is coming from the headset not the speakers.
and of the updates i DLed i only suspect one being the cause of the problem that is(conexant high def. audio) and i tried deleting the update by going to uninstall update but its not there with the other updates :O
please please help :;(

Vista sets default speaker devices… right click the volume icon and go-to playback, then click on the options and select set default. if none of the options work, then i dunno.
if you don't have the volume icon in your taskbar then try control panel
