I hit yes (I want to remove them). 1, why would it ask if you really needed them. That would by stupid as hell. 2, Why would you need updated setup files when you already setup Norton? I guess I could have just screwed myself but¡whatever. Too late now

Bought a HP laptop just a over a month back. It came with Windows Vista Home premium and Norton Security, for 60 days.
After just 30 days my system was infected. After unable to repair/remove infection had to use the HP Restore. Once restored, I removed Norton and installed AVG Free. Have used AVG for nearly two years on other system, no problems with it.
Norton used to be a good AV software, but now it is more of a crapware.
I stopped using Norton well over a year ago. Will never use it again, and
would recommend people having problem with Norton to uninstall and find
alternative like AVG. omar
Yeh microsoft fixed thier OS to keep software companys from sticking the
consumers with crap software like norton and what happens they get sued
over it and lose so you get to look forward to more of bullshit software
from Symantec. When I work on a PC that has any Symantec software on it,
I tell them to take it home save anything they wanna keep and bring it back
when they are ready to format it. Bad as a virus have to use another program
to remove it. ¡¡¡¡ how lame

You shouldn¡¯t call Norton Antivirus scammers or hackers. That¡¯s just silly,
probably you got a nasty trojan that took over your norton. I¡¯ve seen it
happen, the newer norton I¡¯d like to think is stronger then that, but who
knows? I don¡¯t recommend Norton, but they¡¯re certainly not dangerous. I
use symantec website all the time to research certain viruses and use their
helpful removal tools as needed. drjeff

Actually I will not renew this version, I want to wait until they release
2009 so I can buy that. Its not out yet, so I may have to wait a month.
No way am I looking forward to a month of alerts every few minutes. In 30
days it can shut itself if it wants, but not today. (a) I want it, (b) I
will pay, (c) I will pay later when I can buy the new version, not be stuck
for another year with this one. Somehow I made a mistake and got into the
same cycle as the product releases, so I cant upgrade at my leisure.
