Does anyone know how I can have downloads password protected? A computer in my house is used by computer idiots and I want to prevent people from downloading things. How can I go about having my downloads password protected?

Hmm… as long as they can use internet explorer to brows website, you can't stop Internet Explorer from being able to download files.

If you meant those P2P softwares, then perhaps you create a limited user account for them.

Create a new user account, select limited access, and Name the account common. Of course, you should password protect your own windows user account.

Let them use that common account, without adminstrative right, they shouldn't be able to install or change settings.

Set windows firewall on, so this should hinder any attempt to use P2P. I think you can even block the application, if your Norton comes with firewall feature.

They shouldn't be able to change those setting without admin rights in their Common account
