If is says protection up to 3 pcs or 3 personal computer, a laptop is a pc, so it should be included in the 3pcs. So you shouldn't have to pay anything more. Just install and cahnge your inforamtion in your account to include the new laptop, there shouldn't be any problems downloading updates.

I used a trial version of 360 when it first came out. It has an optimizer on it when i ran it it wiped half of my HDD lost my O/S got pissed off i think i still am. I had to spend $ 200 for a new O/S disk. Plus all the time and money it took to get back all the programs that i bought. I have to much invested to mess around with programs that have design flaws. Now i use nothing but Kasperky nothing gets past it. The fire wall saved my comp after i got off the line with MS tech support when i made a mistake to let them remotely share my comp to fix a bunch of SP3 bugs, i got an intrusion alert it was one of the most killer hellkern worms. In the firewall log i copped the ip address and it wastha MS support office that was supposed to help me. I sure an glad i had kasperky !
