April 20th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I have windows vista home premium and norton internet security 2008 trial version on my laptop.I restored my c drive today to resolve some problems.Everything went fine but now the security centre is driving me crazy. The malware and virus protection says norton anti virus is not up to date.So i click on the update option and run live update. Now my norton says it is up to date.So i dont know what to do now.Prior to c drive restore everything was working fine.Help me please.

I have used Norton, even the 2008 version before, and I hated it. My friend purchased a new HP computer a few months ago, which came with a free trial of Norton. We couldn't get it to work. We even tried calling the company, and the person was remotely accessed to the computer for 3 hours, and he couldn't get it to work. I told my friend to install McAfee, and get rid of Norton. Once McAfee was installed, my friend had no problems at all. I would highly recommend installing McAfee.

Everything is fine all it is saying is that it has the definitions it needs to catch viruses

From my experience with norton internet security on vista is system restore breaks the norton application. I got rid of norton and replace it with trend micro internet security and it has not given me any more problems with system restore on vista home premium .
