Norton anti virus problem?

June 18th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I had norton anti virus but i uninstalled it because there was annoying popups at random times. something about 'synametec' or something. i uninstalled synametec or whatever the fuck its called, but still kept getting the popups. so i uninstalled it, but now anything java wont work. like youtube videos. But I have both java and adobe installed. so i reinstalled stupid norton and it worked fine. So I have either a choice of getting stupid annoying popups or having nothing java/flashplayer work. =\ I tried spybot it didnt help. what do i do?
And someone bother to answer, please!

They're not pop-ups they are just warning boxes that come up constatly to ask you permission before your coumputer does anything. Just keep it for around 1-2 weeks and you will answer most of the 'permission pop-up boxes' and it wont ask you again, unless something new happens

Norton [ Symantic ] is a BI#@H t get rid of! even using their own remover!
remember when you are in the registry you are looking for both Norton AND symantic registry keys!

if you are not an advanced user, find someone to help you with this removal process.
it's LONGGGG and INVOLVED but if you want to be RID of Norton…it's gotta be done.

by special request,i'll work with you and walk you thru the entire process.

      anyway,here we go!

      REMOVE PROGRAMS

add/remove is only ONE section you remove programs.
      REMOVE PROGRAMS/VIRUS/WORMS/ECT.

Vista removal methods are SOMETIMES different than XP's. when that happens, you will be directed to Vista footnote to equal the XP process.
Vista has deleted the My from all the start page folders.

VERY 1st thing will be to open System Restore [ see Vista System Restore footnotes ]:

programs like to hide in System Restore and after you clean up the puter and reboot…SURPRISE !!

      Start,All Programs,Accessories,System Tools,System Restore,Settings,turn System restore OFF
this deletes all previous restore points [ and the bad guys ]
after a COMPLETE clean up,return to System Restore and click create new restore point.
give it a name like today's date.
      click create

ROFL !! REMEMBER TO TURN SYSTEM RESTORE BACK ON AFTER REBOOT

next, open the All Programs listing and click the program to be removed.
      look for uninstall file.
click that to begin uninstall process.
do NOT expect that this is ALL you need do,uh,uh!

next step is Add/Remove [ Vista is Program & Features, see Program & Features footnote ].
      start,control panel,Add/Remove
      click change & remove
wait till the list is populated with all programs
      click the program to remove
      click change/remove

once that's done,it's off to your Downloads folder
start, put your cursor on your username at top of start page
if it opens up to a submenu, choose My Downloads
if it doesn't open, right click username and select open THEN select My Downloads

      check hide unused icons
      click customize
choose hide or show for each icon/program listed
      apply…ok
      close

      Program Folder:

      next,remove program from:
      program folder
